Peek at Circle Line latest additions...

11 new Circle Line MRT stations opens today. They add to the lines's first phase of 5 stations which opened in May last year. The new 11-km stretch linking Suntec City and Bras Basah to the heartlands in Lorong Chuan and Serangoon.

The 11 new stations - Dhoby Ghaut, Bras Basah, Esplanade, Promenade, Nicoll Highway, Stadium, Mountbatten, Dakota, Paya Lebar, MacPherson and finally, Tai Seng.

Here are some stations with interesting designs:

^Bras Basah Station - the uniqueness of this station:
1. deepest MRT station at 35m;
2. has the longest escalator at 41m;
3. include a glass roof filled with water

^This glass flooring filled with water is actually the roof of Bras Basah Station.

^Mountbatten Station - SSC Kallang centre for netball, squash, tennis and cricket are within walking distances.

^Paya Lebar Interchange - The first MRT station in Singapore to have both above-ground and underground lines. The only station to have 3 underground tracks.

^Promenade Station links Suntec City & hotels in the Marina area. This station has 2 train platforms on top of each other (see picture).
